To initiate a refund request, I simply accessed my “My Purchases” page and located the course or subscription I wanted to refund. Clicking on “Get Refund” below the refund deadline column started the refund process. 

While it’s disappointing to note that some learning programs, such as specializations, are non-refundable, it’s important to be aware of the refund policies before making a purchase. 

For learners with subscription payments on other learning programs, canceling the subscription effectively ends future payments.

Here are seven tips based on my personal experience:

1. Utilize the filter feature: Coursera’s filter feature is a powerful tool that allows you to narrow down your search based on specific criteria such as skills, job title, level, language, and more. By using this feature, I could quickly find courses tailored to my needs and preferences.
2. Explore the “About this Course” section: Reading the course description and the topics covered in the “About this Course” section gives you a good understanding of what the course entails. Additionally, you can find the skills you will gain, which helps determine if the course aligns with your objectives.
3. Dive into the syllabus: The syllabus provides a breakdown of the course, including the content covered in each week. By reviewing the syllabus, I gained insight into the course structure and the time commitment required.
4. Read reviews: Coursera allows learners to leave reviews and ratings for courses. I found this to be a valuable resource for getting a comprehensive understanding of the course and hearing about the experiences of past learners. By filtering the reviews and sorting them based on relevance, I focused on reviews that were most pertinent to my search.
